Beaumont Hospital partnered with Akrivis to implement a next-generation HVAC solution designed to enhance indoor air quality, reduce energy consumption, and optimise maintenance efficiency in critical care environments. The hospital’s new 20-room, state-of-the-art adult CF inpatient unit required twenty individual Air Handling Units (AHUs) to serve each room independently—a challenge given the limited rooftop plantroom space.
Through the deployment of twenty custom-designed Akrivis vertical AHUs, Beaumont Hospital in association with Quinn Downes Group, achieved an optimal balance of sustainability, reliability, and operational simplicity, fully aligned with the hospital’s 2025–2030 strategic priorities. The innovative vertical design of the Akrivis units reduced the required floorspace by almost half, compared to traditional, horizontal AHUs, making the Akrivis solution ideal for the project’s space and performance requirements.
